Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of jacksonmovingandstoragetn.com (the “Site”) and how you request a quote or book moving services from Jackson Moving and Storage (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the Site, requesting a quote, calling us, or booking a move, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or our services.
If you book a move, the written quote, moving agreement, and any bill of lading we issue for that job control the job itself. Where those documents and these Terms differ, the written moving documents control the move. These Terms control your use of the Site.
This page describes our actual practices. It is not legal advice.

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Jackson Moving and Storage (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They cover your use of jacksonmovingandstoragetn.com (the “Site”) and the process of requesting information or a quote. They do not replace the paperwork you sign for a specific move.
By using the Site, requesting a quote, calling us, or booking a move, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or our services.
We may refuse service, cancel a booking, or limit use of the Site if you violate these Terms, give us information that is materially wrong, or create an unsafe condition for our crew.
2. Who We Are
Jackson Moving and Storage is a family-owned moving company based at 118 N Liberty St, First floor, Jackson, TN 38301. We have served homes and businesses across Jackson, Madison County, Medina, Humboldt, Milan, Trenton, Brownsville, Lexington, Bolivar, and West Tennessee since 2020.
Phone: (731) 215-0142. Hours: Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The Site is operated by Jackson Moving and Storage. We do not offer user accounts, online payment, or a customer portal.
If you book a move, the written quote, moving agreement, and any bill of lading we issue for that job control the job itself. Where those documents and these Terms differ, the written moving documents control the move. These Terms control your use of the Site.
3. Eligibility
The Site and our services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to request a quote or book a move. The person who books is responsible for payment and for giving our crew lawful access to the origin and destination on moving day.
4. Our Services
We provide local and long-distance moving, packing and unpacking, commercial and office moving, piano and specialty-item moving, senior, apartment, student, and furniture moving, and short-term storage.
Service areas include Jackson, Madison County, Medina, Humboldt, Milan, Trenton, Brownsville, Lexington, and Bolivar. Long-distance jobs outside those areas are quoted case by case.
All services depend on crew and truck availability. A booked move is provided under a written moving agreement. Nothing on the Site is a promise that a particular date is open until we confirm it.
5. Quotes and Pricing
Quotes are estimates given in good faith from the information you share with us. They are not a final bill until you approve a written rate and we confirm the booking. Prices, hourly ranges, and sample job times on the Site (including the Pricing page) are illustrations, not a guaranteed quote for your move.
- Local moves in Jackson are priced by the hour. Typical local rates run $85–$120 per hour for a 2–3 person crew, depending on home size, stairs, season, and crew size.
- The hourly rate covers the crew, the truck, fuel, moving blankets, and basic furniture protection. Disassembly and reassembly of beds and standard furniture is included.
- Long-distance moves are priced as a flat rate based on distance and volume, set before you book so the number does not change by the hour on the road.
- Packing labor, packing materials, and specialty items such as pianos and safes are itemized separately.
- Stairs, elevators, and long carries add time on an hourly move, which adds to the total.
Final pricing can change if the job on moving day is materially different from what you described (more rooms, extra flights of stairs, items we were not told about). We will talk through any change before we add it. There are no hidden fees: the rate you approve is the rate you pay, plus only the add-ons you asked for and we listed in writing.
6. Booking and Payment
Moves are scheduled first-come, first-served. Your date and arrival window are confirmed when you book. No deposit is required to reserve most moves. You pay the agreed rate on moving day. We do not take payment through the Site.
Payment terms for a specific job are those we confirm when you book. Call us with any billing questions before moving day. If a job requires a deposit or a different payment method, we will say so in writing before you confirm.
7. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Giving us accurate information about the home size, stairs, elevators, long carries, and specialty items when you request a quote
- Ensuring safe, legal access for the crew and truck at both addresses
- Arranging parking, loading-zone permits, or HOA/building access if the property requires them
- Disconnecting and preparing appliances unless we have agreed in writing to do that work
- Keeping with you cash, jewelry, important documents, medications, firearms, and other high-value or irreplaceable items. We do not transport those
- Being present, or having an authorized adult present, at pickup and delivery to confirm the inventory and sign the moving documents
8. Items We Do Not Move
For safety and legal reasons we do not transport:
- Hazardous materials, flammables, explosives, or compressed gases
- Perishable food
- Live plants and animals
- Cash, jewelry, important documents, medications, firearms, and similar high-value or irreplaceable items
If you are unsure whether an item can go on the truck, ask before moving day. We may refuse any item that is unsafe to handle or that we are not equipped to move.
9. Access, Parking, and Delays
Waiting time, long carries, stairs, and elevators add time on an hourly move. If the truck cannot park legally close to the door, the extra carry is billed as part of that time.
We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, building or HOA restrictions, missing permits, or access you did not arrange, as long as we used reasonable care. If a delay is on us, we will tell you as soon as we can and work on a new window.
10. Storage
Short-term storage, when we offer it, is a separate written arrangement. It is not self-storage and not a warehouse open to the public. Rates, access, and how long we will hold goods are those we confirm in writing for that job. Goods in storage remain subject to the valuation and claims terms in your moving documents.
11. Liability and Claims
Our liability for loss or damage is governed by your written moving agreement and applicable law, including federal household-goods rules when a move is interstate. We use padding, wrapping, and floor protection on every move.
If you believe an item was lost or damaged, notify us as soon as possible and no later than the deadline in your moving agreement so we can inspect and resolve it. Do not discard the item or the packing until we have had a chance to review the claim, unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
12. Valuation and Insurance
Jackson Moving and Storage is licensed and insured. We can share current licensing and insurance details when you book. Before moving day we will walk you through valuation options for the shipment, including any extra protection you want for high-value items.
Ask for a copy of the coverage that applies to your job when you book. Released-value or full-value terms, if they apply, are those stated in your moving agreement, not a number published on this Site.
13. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Tell us as soon as you need to cancel or change the date. There is no cancellation fee when you give reasonable notice, and we will work with you to find another date. Late cancellations or a no-show on moving day may mean we cannot hold the original crew or window. Same-week and weekend dates fill first, especially at month-end.
14. Website Use
Content on this Site is general information about our company and services. We work to keep it accurate, but we do not warrant that every page is complete, current, or error-free. Prices, time ranges, and examples on the Site are illustrations, not a guaranteed quote. A quote is the written rate we give you for your specific move.
You may not scrape, copy, overload, or misuse the Site in a way that interferes with other visitors or our operations. You may not attempt to bypass security on the quote or contact forms, including honeypot or nonce checks.
15. Intellectual Property
The Site, including text, layout, logos, photos, and graphics, is owned by Jackson Moving and Storage or used with permission. You may view pages for your own information about our services. You may not copy, republish, or commercially reuse Site content without our written permission, except for brief fair-use quotations that credit the Site.
16. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including Google Maps, Google reviews, and similar tools. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or for what they do with information you give them.
17. Privacy
How we collect and use information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Site you also acknowledge that policy.
18. Disclaimer of Warranties (Site)
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by Tennessee law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement as they relate to the Site. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful code. This disclaimer is about the Site only, not about a booked move.
19. Limitation of Liability (Site)
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jackson Moving and Storage is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
This section is about the Site only. Liability for a booked move is set by your written moving agreement and applicable law, not by this paragraph.
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold Jackson Moving and Storage harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees that arise because you (a) misuse the Site, (b) give us information that is materially false or incomplete, or (c) fail to arrange access, parking, or permits as required for the job, to the extent those claims are caused by that conduct. This does not limit any rights you have under your moving agreement or applicable law for loss or damage to household goods.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes about the Site or these Terms may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Madison County, Tennessee. Interstate moves may also be subject to federal household-goods regulations. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. For a booked move, the entire agreement about that job is the written quote, moving agreement, bill of lading, and any other documents we issue for that job. Informal emails or phone notes do not change those documents unless we confirm the change in writing.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Site after a change is posted means you accept the updated Terms. For a move already booked, the documents you signed for that job still control that job.
